Malachi, Miracle Child for 2023

Malachi was diagnosed with the most severe form of spina bifida when his mom, Whitney, was 19 weeks pregnant. Now 5 years old, Malachi has spent over 380 days at Seattle Children’s, including his first 7 months of life when he underwent five lifesaving surgeries, including two brain surgeries and open heart surgery.

Seattle Children’s is the only nationally ranked standalone pediatric hospital in the Pacific Northwest. That means even kids with the most complex medical needs like Malachi can access all their care under one roof.
