We are thrilled to announce that two of our outstanding team members were honored at the 2025 Tartan & Tween Awards & Installation Banquet hosted by the Whatcom County Association of Realtors (WCAR)! The event took place on January 10 at the Four Points Sheraton in Bellingham, and it was a night to remember for our RE/MAX family.

• Julie Carpenter was named Realtor of the Year for her remarkable contributions, dedication, and professionalism in the real estate industry. Julie has been an integral part of RE/MAX for an incredible 28 years, and her recognition is well-deserved.

• Michael Shkurat earned the title of Rookie of the Year for his impressive performance and impact in the industry as a newcomer. Michael’s enthusiasm and drive have truly set him apart.

Julie Carpenter’s Inspiring Speech

During her acceptance speech, Julie expressed heartfelt gratitude to Lori Reece, saying, "Thank you to Lori Reece for making RE/MAX my home for the last 28 years. It's a fabulous place to work, and we get lots of support." She also shared a powerful quote from Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world."

Julie encouraged younger generations to take leadership roles within WCAR, emphasizing the importance of stepping up to make a difference. Her words were both inspiring and empowering—a reminder of the positive change that committed individuals can create.
